It took me a long time, a lot of hard lessons, books, and old heads from all walks of life sitting me down and schooling me before I began to resemble anything close to what I believed a man should look like.
What you see here and now with Certified Man-Time is the blueprint of that journey put into words.
About ten years ago, I dropped my flag and made a decision: I wanted to be better. I wanted to do better for myself.
I still had many hard lessons ahead of me. But about five years ago, God touched my heart, and I began to truly understand the value of what I was doing—and, more importantly, the true value of myself.
Growing up, I went from family to family, group home to group home, juvenile facilities to jails—from drug dealer to drug user.
And now, from Boy to Man.
That journey is one of the reasons CMT exists.
I want to share my story and my passion while helping provide something that we as men need—and something our misguided young men need even more:
An environment that feeds us, builds us, and challenges us.
A place where positive goals and aspirations are celebrated. A place where individuality and personal style are appreciated. A place where men can hold one another accountable, learn from one another, and push each other toward something greater.
My name is Scotty D. Tyler.
I've gone by many names throughout my past.
But right now, just call me Friend.
And let's get it poppin'.
